2011 - Happy New Year!

Can't believe it's finally the end of 2010!

Hi!

I don't know about the others but this year has been a quick and not so good year for me. A lot of disappointments and put downs and a lot work done for nothing. Been really tired and nothing worked out the way it was supposed to be. Lost some old relations and got some new sweet ones. Have moved very far away from some people I used to call my close friends and got closer to new friends, which I'm hoping to keep throughout my life. Learnt some new things and got matured by the minute...(Giggles).

2010 - The year I was sixteen. the year of my "Quinceañera" or something like that.It didn't actually turn out the way I wished but still pretty good. and in just five days I'll be 17!! I can't believe it. I'll be the first to become 17 among my friends because of my birthday which falls on the first week of January.

Anyway, got a lot to do this new year! The next post will probably be next year!

A Bad Hair Day - Think Again!

It's been some time since I've posted anything, well I'm just going to keep this post as short as I can. A Bad Hair Day!!! What do you think of that ? Have you ever in your whole life been through a moment where you wake up late and couldn't fix your hair properly and had to run to school or work in  a messy look ?? It's just common right? (Giggles)

One Advice : - When your hair doesn't fall right go for this look....

Pardes - " Foreign Land"

PARDES - Pardes, meaning "foreign land", is a story that revolves around Ganga (Mahima Chaudhary). She is a young Indian girl living in a rural village, and is brought up by her conservative Indian family.

Kishorilal (Amrish Puri) is a wealthy and successful businessman who lives in Los Angeles, America but is still deeply attached to his motherland India and adores the values and culture of India. On a visit to India, he meets his old friend Suraj Dev (Alok Nath) and stays at their house. During his stay he gets to know Suraj Dev's family and becomes very attached to Ganga, Dev's eldest daughter who is the epitome of Indian culture.

He hopes to find an Indian girl for his westernized, American son, Rajiv (Agnihotri) and feels that Ganga is just right. He offers a marriage proposal between Ganga and Rajiv and Dev's family accept. But he knows he will have a tough time trying to convince his son Rajiv who has never even visited India.

But Kishorilal has a plan. He sends his foster son, Arjun (Shahrukh Khan) - 'Little Master' to play cupid and convince Rajiv to visit India and meet and approve of Ganga. Arjun arrives at Dev's house and makes changes and arrangements to make the place suitable for Rajiv. Rajiv joins him in a few days and initially does not like the idea. Arjun spends many days trying to get Ganga and Rajiv to like each other and in the process becomes a close friend of Ganga. Eventually Rajiv and Ganga both agree to the wedding.

The engagement is set in India with the wedding in America. Ganga leaves for America with her new family and is very excited about going 'Pardes'. In her new surroundings, her only friend and confidant is Arjun who she begins to form a special bond with. At first everything seems OK but as time goes on she realises that Rajiv really isn't the person Arjun portrayed to her while they were in India. She faces many culture shocks when she sees Rajiv smoking, drinking and also finds out that he has had affairs and sexual relations in the past and is still seeing his former girlfriend. She confronts Arjun about why he lied to her, and he realises that he has fallen in love with her.

Rajiv's family member notices the closeness between Ganga and Arjun and warns Kishorilal. He tells Arjun to leave the city. Ganga, now alone, goes on a trip to Las Vegas with Rajiv. She misses Arjun and his companionship, but tries to get on with Rajiv. One night, in a drunken state Rajiv tries to rape Ganga, she manages to knock him unconscious and runs away. Arjun, finds out Ganga is missing and looks for her. He finds her at a train station crying her eyes out and her clothes torn, she explains that Rajiv tried to rape her.

He promises to protect her and help her get back to India, back to her family.

Suraj Dev is misinformed with the circumstances in which Arjun brought Ganga to India. Believing Arjun ran away with Ganga, he tries to kill him. Suraj Dev mistrusts his daughter and she is locked up in a shed. She realises that she is in love with Arjun. By this time Kishorilal has come to India. Rajiv comes as well and is ready to kill Arjun and take Ganga back to America. Everyone is against them.

How Ganga and Arjun realize their love for each other, and manage to convince everyone that their love is pure, is the remainder of the story.

Pardes was a hit in India and overseas. During the 1990s, there was a trend of NRI men looking for young Indian girls to marry, and this film brought to light the culture shock and difficulties that may be involved in such cases.

Mahima is so beautiful in this movie and for a newcomer (according to that time) she has learned to pull herself together and did a great job in this movie.

For those who enjoy Hindi Film, will surely enjoy this movie - and my favourite character was Ganga of course!

Breakfast - The Kick Start!

START YOUR DAY RIGHT!

Breakfast is an important meal in one's whole day, because it's the kick start for a day. According to me, my breakfast defines how my whole day will turn out to be, if I have a whole meal, the day would be very bright and freash especially when I'm going school, what I learn in school is more effectively understood and when I don't eat a whole meal, or if I don't eat at all, then the whole day might turn out to be moody and so on.

Most people don't take it serious, but it is not good if you don't take your breakfast everyday. So do you have any idea what a perfect meal for your breakfast should be... I have a little help for you (those who have no idea what to eat for breakfast, then you can try this!)

Hey There!

" Now who doesn't have facebook? " That's the new question for the season...

Facebook, created by (not much people know who) is now being very famous! kids little as 7 and 8 has a facebook account and once I heard a story about my elder brother's friend; she created a facebook account for her baby which was yet to be born!! Now digest that.... while some would want to get in touch with their old friends, while some just want to waste their time and while people like me would want to have a facebook account to keep in touch with my family who are staying far away (across the borders; in a different country ) from us and also to spend some time when I'm bored! =)

& while in facebook, we would upload pictures, tag our friends, post wall posts, comments, play games such as Farm ville, Mafia wars and so on, tag our friends and the post common is posting status!

Standards of beauty are always evolving, based on what a culture considers valuable. Historical paintings show a wide range of different standards for beauty. However, humans who are relatively young, with smooth skin, well-proportioned bodies, and regular features, have traditionally been considered to be the most beautiful throughout history.

With this in mind, I guess now days having a flawless and smooth skin is the key to success in attaining beauty. With air pollutions and so on, skins are affected so badly and is needed more care than ever before. And as we grow our skin becomes less healthier (because we may stress to much), but still we can keep them fit as a fiddle with some help of the natural ingredients.

Here are some of the things you may use to help your skin glow!. I have been trying all these rather than picking up a cosmetic worth 100 dollars to make things right! and for my amusement they sure do help!

All home-made and easy to apply!

1 - Tropical Citrus Mask

Tropical fruits aren't just for making fruit juice. They have amazing cleansing capabilities and they smell great!

Ingredients:

• 1 ripe banana
• 1 teaspoon olive oil
• 1 drop orange essential oil

Instructions:

Start by mixing together the banana, olive oil and orange oil. Smooth the mixture onto your face and leave it there for about 15-20 minutes. When you're ready, rinse it off with lukewarm water, and then apply a moisturizer.

Tip:
For a less messy application, you can use cheesecloth to cover your face before using the mask. Just make sure to cut out holes for your eyes and mouth.

2 - Rosewater Facial Toner

Rosewater is a great astringent and will keep your skin clean and smelling beautiful.

Ingredients:

• 1 cup rose petals
• 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol
• 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions:

Once you've collected all those rose petals, simmer them in water for 10 minutes, and then strain. Add rubbing alcohol. Pour into an old shampoo bottle or soap bottle. To use, simply squirt some rosewater on a cotton ball and dab on face.

Tip:
The rubbing alcohol is optional, but it helps to preserve the toner once you've made it. It will last for about a week in the fridge without the alcohol, and two weeks with it.

3 - Oatmeal Blueberry Mask

This mask works particularly well if your skin is oily, but it's also great for a deep clean. You'll only need to use it once or twice a month.

Ingredients:

• 1 cup dry oatmeal
• 1 cup blueberries
• 1 tablespoon honey
• 5-6 almonds, whole


Instructions:

Use a blender to puree the ingredients together. Once the mixture is ready, spread it on your face, and then let it dry for 10-15 minutes. After you take it off, make sure to rinse your face with warm water, and then splash on some cooler water, or even toner. As long as you keep it tightly covered, you can store this mask in your fridge for up to a week.

A Tip from a Friend from Girlsense

Once I asked a friend on how to wear make up as I never had any experience and a girl from the website Girlsense send me a messege giving me advice on how to wear the make up. She told me step by step. It seemed really helpful....

Sorry I haven't got to you earlier. I was like so busy. I think the best place to start is with eye shadow. I would say start light. Work on making your eyes stand out. But don't load on the make up. When too much make up is applied it looks bad. I would start with one color first. Apply that and once you do that put on eye liner start from the middle on the eye to the edge that faces your ear. If your parents won't let you use eye liner I figured out that if you use dark shadow it could pass for liner. Once you’re done then apply the mascara. Start toward your eye then move outwards. Now that was just the eyes there are way more to do to look awesome. Like blush. Put on blush that is close to your skin tone. Start at your upper bone then go down to the cheek. Then last the lips. The lips are simple, just apple some gloss and then you’ll look awesome!!

What you need:

• Blow Dryer
• Brush / Comb
• Hair Elastic
• Hairspray / Curling Iron (Only if you prefer)

1. Go hop in the shower and wash your hair
2. Once you have done-dry your hair and heat up your curling iron (if you prefer only)
3. Once your hair is dry use your curling iron and curl your hair to give it loose waves.
4. Part your hair to the right and put it in a low side ponytail. Leave a strand loose on the other side of your head.
5. Then spray your hair with hair spray to finish it of (Only if you prefer)
6. And don’t forget to turn of the curling iron.

Hey There,
It's has been a good!

Well, Let me get to the story; I'm not very obsessed with fashion, I'm just not that kinda girl, but I sure can't stop myself from not looking away when someone dresses so good; from her clothes, to hair and also with perfect make up! As if like a perfect recipe! Well one of the teen stars I love is Selena Gomez, her fashion and dressing style is beyond comparable with stars of this times; Lady Gaga?!?, Keisha?!?, or Vanessa Hudgens?!? I don't think they have what it takes to be said that they have a sense for fashion. Even if they do have a sense for fashion,I don't think so, that we can still follow them or try wearing like them! Going to school with an eye-patch is not in my list! & I'm not going to wake up from the bath tub either!!

Well, I like two of her favourite make up style which I uploaded here with the instruction + the picture, so you can clearly understand what the instructions state... ( The second picture with the instructions ; I will be posting it later!)

Chevy Rocks The Future

Things you need:

• Foundation
• Concealer Pen
• Mascara
• Eyeliner (Rolley Pen)
• Rosy Pink Lip Gloss
• Light Blush

Step 1: First thing you need to do, is wash your face with warm/ hot water with non animal tested soap. Once you have washed your face, use cold water to close your poses so when you apply make-up your pores don’t fill up with makeup and cause acne.

Step 2: Take your concealer pen to cover up and or acne that may be visible blemishes.
Step 3: Choose a foundation that is no more than to shades from your original skin tone. Apply your foundation evenly and make sure to blend it in with your neckline, jaw line, hairline. Use a foundation sponge to get rid of the chomps.

Step 4: When you are done applying your foundation, add some eyeliner to your bottom eyelid carefully starting from the lash line to the end of your eye. Don’t apply to much, be careful not to ruin your foundation.

Step 5: Then apply a small amount of eyeliner on your top lash line, and then use your smudge tool with your eyeliner to make a grayish eye shadow-look (most rolley pen eyeliner have this). If your eyeliner doesn’t have this, then take a grey or light black eye shadow and apply it to your top eyelid only.

Step 6: Apply a light coat of mascara on your top eyelashes only.

Step 7: Apply a very light amount of blush to your check bones. It is obvious Selena did not use a heavy amount, so do the same.

Step 8: For the last step, apply some rosy pink lip gloss to your lips don’t apply to much or too little, but just enough. Use a piece of toilet paper or a napkin and blot on your lip gloss won’t get on your teeth.

Hye there, We don't really celebrated Mother's Day at our house like a lot people do, but still I would like to give a shoutout to my mother; I love you mom always and for all the mom's out there Happy Mother's Day! I would like to write some kind of tribute to all the mothers out there but time doesn't seem to be at my side, so maybe some other time... :)

WoW I Finally have a new layout for my Blog;- I just LOVE IT!!!! It looks sooo sweet! Well, been sooo busy lately with schools, exams , sports and also Temple Festivals, that I couldn't find some time to really sit down and write something and post it ! It has been a kick start this year with a lot on my mind and and a lot to be done this year without delay like my studying with care, well lets keep that aside for a moment, I had no time for entertainment, not that I have now! :) I'm always the last person to hear a new song or watch a new movie! I'm just proud to be who I am and the way I am (Not being obsessed with television or the radio) but I heard this new song by Taylor Swift and I think it's a nice song,well it is not the best song of the year, but still it is nice to hear... (credits go to Taylor Swift and Valentine's Day and everyone involved)

Yes it's true all Taylor Swifts songs are about fairy tales and princesses and prince charming and so on , and some say that she lives in her own dream land! I'm like, so what?!?!? Sometimes in life, I think it's not a big problem to spend a few minutes dreaming rather than being in this realitily, we do need a BREAK from this chaotic life. I don't think it' a way of making ourselves miserable or embrassing in any way, it's a just a way of making ourselves feel more ourselves
