DIDI VEGA :

I'd rather you be mean than love and lie
I'd rather hear the truth and have to say goodbye
I'd rather take a blow atleast then I would know
But baby don't you break my heart slow

Bhagavad Gita As It Is

The Bhagavad-gita is universally renowned as the jewel of India's spiritual wisdom. Spoken by Lord Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead to His intimate disciple Arjuna, the Gita's seven hundred concise verses provide a definitive guide to the science of self realization. No other philosophical or religious work reveals, in such a lucid and profound way, the nature of consciousness, the self, the universe and the Supreme.

His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada is uniquely qualified to present this English translation and commentary on Bhagavad-gita. He is the world's foremost Vedic scholar and teacher, and he is also the current representative of an unbroken chain of fully self-realized spiritual masters begining with Lord Krishna Himself. Thus, unlike other editions of the Gita, this one is presented as it is--without the slightest taint of adulteration or personal motivation. This edition is certain to stimulate and enlighten with its ancient yet thoroughly timely message.

I find this website very useful and I think it will be for you, for those who don't have Bhagavad Gita for now and refer and read from this website but buying the book would be more effective. Hare Krishna!

I'd tell you I miss you, but I don't know how
I've never heard silence quite this loud!

Bone Dance!

Miley sings:

And now I take it home, with the parietal bone
It might be crazy, but I learn that way
Temporal and frontal too
And now I'm finally through
That makes 206
I found a way that clicks

Miley thinks and dances:
When I milk the cow
On Uncle Earl's farm
I use the ulna bone
That is in my arm

Miley shouts:
MOO YAH!

Miley mouths: Help!
Lily: She can't do it without dancing, we have to distract Kunkel.
Oliver: Way ahead of you. You want paper cut, bit my tongue or a nose bleed?
Lily: Oh, nose bleed is my favorite!
Oliver: Well, lean back 'cuz your in the splashing zone. Ow!! Oh man, oh it's a nose bleed! (Lily: Oh, it's gusher!) It's a gusher, that's what it is! Look everyone, it's a gusher.

Mrs. Kunkel: Oaken, Oaken, honestly! Paper cuts, bitten tongues, and now a nose bleed! We should put you in a helmet.

Miley dances and thinks: With the parietal bone, it might be crazy...
Mrs. Kunkel: Stewart!
Miley: Leg cramp! I just need to you know, shake it off with some dance steps...

Mrs. Kunkel: That's it! I warned you about cheating. Your test is over.
Miley: But, I'm not cheating! I know the answers. And I can prove it if I can move it.
Mrs. Kunkel: I suggest you move it down to the principal's office. Just go down the hall, make a left, then a right, when you see your brother, you're there.

(Miley leaves the classroom then comes back in)

Miley sings:
Everybody knows the bones
Just had to find a way
Everybody knows what I'm talkin 'bout
Thats how I'll get an A

Mrs. Kunkel: Stewart! I thought I told you...
Lily: Just give her a chance. Please!

Miley sings:
My bod has many parts
And this is where it starts
Phalanges I have ten
And Metatarsals then
I got some Tarsals too
I'll put 'em in my shoe

Oliver: She's tellin' the truth

Miley sings:
The fibula is next
According to my text
Then comes the tibia
That ain't no fibia

And now up to my knee,
Yeah, yeah, yeah
That's the patella to me

Miley and Lily sing:
We're doing the bone dance
You study the answers
Again and again til I get it right

Miley, Lily, and Oliver sing:
We're doing the bone dance
You dance and you learn it
And we won't mess up this test
We'll get it perfect

Miley: Come on everybody move those...fe..femurs
Rico: Yeah, by the look of these tests, you losers need all the help you can get.

Miley, Lily, and Oliver sing:
We're doin' the bone dance
You dance and you learn it...

The class sings:
And now I take it home
With the Parietal bone
It might be crazy
But we learn that way

Temporal and frontal too
And now we're finally through
That makes 206
I found a way that clicks

(Speaking): Bone Thugs in the house

We're doing the bone dance
You study the answers
Again and again till I get it right
We're doing the bone dance

You dance and you learn it
And we won't mess up this test
We'll get it perfect

WORD!

Mrs. Kunkel: That's it! Stewart, I'm going to get the principal.
Miley: What...?
Mrs. Kunkel: I want you to show him that dance. It's the best study technique I've ever seen!
Mrs. Kunkel tries to sing (and fails miserably):
By the way,
You got an A!
Word!

Miley, Lily, and Oliver:
We're goin' to Europe!

Miley: Give me some metacarpal love!

Miley, Lily, and Oliver sing quietly:
We're doin' the bone dance,
You study the answers

Miley: What?
Rico: That song, those moves, your voice, it all reminds me of some famous singer...
Miley: Kelly Clarkson?
Lily: Hilary Duff?
Oliver: JayZ!
Rico: I got it! Hannah Montana!

(Pause)
Miley, Lily, Oliver: HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA!
Miley: Hannah Montana, you little joker! You're so...
Rico: You're right, what was I thinking? This bubble-brain could never pull off something like that!
Oliver: Yeah, what were you thinking? We're talkin' about nothin' upstairs if you know what I mean.

Lily: Hey, Oliver, I can see you!
Oliver: Oh, I can see you too!
Lily and Oliver: Hey! Hi!

Hornbeam

There it goes again, out of my hand, out of my reach. there's nothing that I can do now

or is there a way? maybe two, well who cares! duh!
it's difficult, but easier at the same time.... oh wait! what am I talking?
I don't know! I hate when I don't know what to write! erh!!

well, how about the book I just read. which i finished two days ago.

The Hornbeam by Susan Lewis.

The truth is.... I hated the book!
It was one of the worse.
No offense ( I know, I know,  if you have to say “no offense” to someone, you have already offended them.)

Like who would ever want to read bad romance, political problems and a bond between a mother and daughter all in one book.
Lauria is Yuck and stupid for falling in love with two guys at the same time. Tom is very boring with all his political and terrorist problems.

We get it that Pakistan and US don't get along. What more do we need to know!

I don't know how other books by Susan are, but I know that this book is not on my favourite list.

Now I'm moved on to The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. My sister said it was a great book. Hope it is, and hope it takes my mind off The Hornbeam Tree for good.

My final review: One of the worst books I have ever read, was determined to finish it and very glad I have!!!
Toddles!

Ask Juliet

~ Chapter One ~

“C’mon, Maddie! I won’t ask you for anything ever again. Please, please, please, please!” begged my best friend, Bailey Johnson, her long, fiery red curls swaying from side to side.

“That’s what you said last time when you asked me to do your book report on Jane Eyre for you. The next day, you borrowed my new cashmere sweater,” Maddie pointed out wryly. “Your track record speaks for itself.”
“But, Spencer Adams had asked out on a date. I needed to look my best! And, you love Charlotte Bronte.”

“That’s not the point. I’m always doing stuff for you, and you never return the favor,” complained Maddie. “Besides, I don’t know anything about romance- or giving advice. How am I supposed to write your Ask Juliet column?”
“It’s not like any of the problems require actual thought. They’re all really, really stupid,” Bailey explained. “It will take you a maximum of ten minutes. Then, you tell Mr. Freeman that you’re finished, and he’ll deal with the rest. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.”

Maddie sighed. “Why can’t you just do it if it only takes ten minutes?”
“I’m really behind in math. Four months behind. My teacher says if I don’t attend his one-hour help session after school, and meet with a tutor three times a week, I’ll fail,” her peppy expression turned forlorn. “You know how my Mom has been since Dad left. If I fail, she’ll ground me and I won’t be allowed to go on any dates with Spencer.”

Bailey’s jade coloured eyes were welling up with tears and Maddie shook her head in defeat. “Fine, fine, fine. If I screw up, it’s totally not my fault.”
The taller girl jumped up and down excitedly, and pulled her friend into a tight hug. “Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are the best friend in the history of the world.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah.” Maddie checked the time on her cell phone, and said, “I’ve got to go to English.”
“And, I have to go to Bio,” her face contorted into a grimace. “I’ll text you after my review session. Maybe if I have time after tutoring, we can hang out.”
Maddie nodded, waved, and walked to her class. Her lips curved into a frown as she entered the classroom. On top of the desk in front of hers, occupied by Chris Mackenzie, sat Natalie Lancaster, leader of the in crowd. The two were talking about some party they had gone to on the weekend.

Mentally, Maddie shook her head. The only reason Natalie and her crew spoke to Chris was because his father their English teacher, and they would be failing his class was it not for their conspicuous schmoozing.
Most terribly of all was that, outside of class, they paid him no heed. As a result, Chris followed behind them like a devoted puppy, unaware of his own insignificance. It was a true shame, considering he was kind, and was continuously making intelligent remarks.
A few minutes after Maddie had taken her seat, Mr. Mackenzie entered the room, forcing Natalie to return to her own seat at the back, and ending hers and Chris’ conversation.
“Good afternoon, class. I hope you all had an excellent weekend,” greeted the teacher. “Please take out the rough copies of your essays on Romeo and Juliet. Today you will peer edit.”

“Do we get to pick our own partners?” asked a student from the back of the classroom.

“I will assign your partners.” Quickly and efficiently, he paired up the class.
After being paired up with Maddie, Chris turned around in his seat, and smiled at her, his cerulean eyes kind. “Hey Maddie.”
“Hey,” she replied, rather nervously. Her experience talking to boys was next to none.
“Hey guys!” cut in Natalie breezily. “Mr. MacMac said I could join this group since Brittany’s away and we don’t have enough people.”

Chris turned his smile to her. “Great.”
She took a seat at the empty desk next to Maddie. “Did either of you guys actually finish it? I was so smashed this weekend that I didn’t have time.”

“No, I didn’t,” admitted Chris guiltily. “I was going to yesterday, but my charity event ran later than expected.”
“Awesome. We can make it look like we’re working, and just chill instead.”
“Um, I actually finished mine,” Maddie said, rather hesitantly. “But, my mom’s a writer, so it doesn’t need much editing, anyway.”

Under her breath, so Chris wouldn’t hear, Natalie muttered, “Nerd.”

“Why don’t you read yours to us?” suggested Chris. “That way we’ll actually be doing “

“Sure.” She began to read her essay, which outlined the reasons why the whole story was completely irrational, from their first falling in love, to their deaths at the end. After Maddie finished reading, she bit her lip, unsure what their reactions would be.
“How can you say such a thing?” questioned Natalie, her eyes wide. “Romeo and Juliet is, like, the best, and most romantic story ever. Who would want to be alive when their lover is dead?”

“Um, Juliet wasn’t actually dead. It was stupid of Romeo to kill himself without checking first.”
“Still,” she protested. “Even dying for the possibility of your loved one’s death is just so romantic! Isn’t it, Chris?”

He shook his head. “I think it would be rather hypocritical. If I died, I would want my loved one to go on with her life. Just because I’m dead, doesn’t mean she should be too. I expect, did she love me enough; her feelings would be the same. Although, I would certainly die if it in doing so I would save her life.”

Natalie sighed, and fake punched him in the arm. “You are so insensitive, Chris! To think you could go on living without your soul mate! I never, ever could!” At this, Maddie inwardly rolled an eye. If everything Natalie whispered to Brittany during second period French class was true, the former’s soul mate changed every week.

The subject quickly changed to whether the group should study at Natalie’s house or the Purple Llama café. Maddie was forced to bear the tedium of hearing about an event that she herself was not invited to.

2011 - Happy New Year!

Can't believe it's finally the end of 2010!

Hi!

I don't know about the others but this year has been a quick and not so good year for me. A lot of disappointments and put downs and a lot work done for nothing. Been really tired and nothing worked out the way it was supposed to be. Lost some old relations and got some new sweet ones. Have moved very far away from some people I used to call my close friends and got closer to new friends, which I'm hoping to keep throughout my life. Learnt some new things and got matured by the minute...(Giggles).

2010 - The year I was sixteen. the year of my "Quinceañera" or something like that.It didn't actually turn out the way I wished but still pretty good. and in just five days I'll be 17!! I can't believe it. I'll be the first to become 17 among my friends because of my birthday which falls on the first week of January.

Anyway, got a lot to do this new year! The next post will probably be next year!
Toddles! :D

Back To December

I'm so glad you made time to see me.
How's life, tell me how's your family?
I haven't seen them in a while.
You've been gone, busier then ever.
We small talk, work and the weather
Your guard is up and I know why.

Cause the last time you saw me
Is still burned in the back of your mind.
You gave me roses and I left them there to die.

So this is me swallowing my pride,
Standing in front of you saying I'm sorry for that night,
And I go back to December all the time.
Turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you,
Wishing that I realized what I had when you were mine.
I'd go back to December, turn around and make it all right.
I go back to December all the time.

These days I haven't been sleeping
Staying up playing back myself leaving,
When your birthday passed and I didn't call.
And I think about summer, all the beautiful times
I watched you laughing from the passenger side
Realized that I loved you in the fall.

Then the cold came, the dark days when fear crept into my mind.
You gave me all your love and all I gave you was goodbye.

So this is me swallowing my pride,
Standing in front of you saying I'm sorry for that night.
And I go back to December all the time.
Turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you,
Wishing that I realized what I had when you were mine.
I'd go back to December turn around and change my own mind.
I go back to December all the time

I miss your tan skin, your sweet smile, so good to me, so right,
And how you held me in your arms that September night,
The first time you ever saw me cry.
Maybe this is wishful thinking,
Probably mindless dreaming
If we loved again I swear I'd love you right.

I'd go back in time and change it but I can't
So if the chain is on your door, I understand.

But this is me swallowing my pride,
Standing in front of you saying I'm sorry for that night,
And I go back to December.
Turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you,
Wishing that I realized what I had when you were mine.
I'd go back to December turn around and make it alright.
I'd go back to December turn around and change my own mind.
I go back to December all the time.

All the time

A Bad Hair Day - Think Again!

Hollaaaa!

It's been some time since I've posted anything, well I'm just going to keep this post as short as I can. A Bad Hair Day!!! What do you think of that ? Have you ever in your whole life been through a moment where you wake up late and couldn't fix your hair properly and had to run to school or work in  a messy look ?? It's just common right? (Giggles)

One Advice : - When your hair doesn't fall right go for this look....

It looks messy and at the same time quite arranged!

Anyway, Have a Good Day!

Pardes - " Foreign Land"

PARDES - Pardes, meaning "foreign land", is a story that revolves around Ganga (Mahima Chaudhary). She is a young Indian girl living in a rural village, and is brought up by her conservative Indian family.

Kishorilal (Amrish Puri) is a wealthy and successful businessman who lives in Los Angeles, America but is still deeply attached to his motherland India and adores the values and culture of India. On a visit to India, he meets his old friend Suraj Dev (Alok Nath) and stays at their house. During his stay he gets to know Suraj Dev's family and becomes very attached to Ganga, Dev's eldest daughter who is the epitome of Indian culture.

He hopes to find an Indian girl for his westernized, American son, Rajiv (Agnihotri) and feels that Ganga is just right. He offers a marriage proposal between Ganga and Rajiv and Dev's family accept. But he knows he will have a tough time trying to convince his son Rajiv who has never even visited India.

But Kishorilal has a plan. He sends his foster son, Arjun (Shahrukh Khan) - 'Little Master' to play cupid and convince Rajiv to visit India and meet and approve of Ganga. Arjun arrives at Dev's house and makes changes and arrangements to make the place suitable for Rajiv. Rajiv joins him in a few days and initially does not like the idea. Arjun spends many days trying to get Ganga and Rajiv to like each other and in the process becomes a close friend of Ganga. Eventually Rajiv and Ganga both agree to the wedding.

The engagement is set in India with the wedding in America. Ganga leaves for America with her new family and is very excited about going 'Pardes'. In her new surroundings, her only friend and confidant is Arjun who she begins to form a special bond with. At first everything seems OK but as time goes on she realises that Rajiv really isn't the person Arjun portrayed to her while they were in India. She faces many culture shocks when she sees Rajiv smoking, drinking and also finds out that he has had affairs and sexual relations in the past and is still seeing his former girlfriend. She confronts Arjun about why he lied to her, and he realises that he has fallen in love with her.

Rajiv's family member notices the closeness between Ganga and Arjun and warns Kishorilal. He tells Arjun to leave the city. Ganga, now alone, goes on a trip to Las Vegas with Rajiv. She misses Arjun and his companionship, but tries to get on with Rajiv. One night, in a drunken state Rajiv tries to rape Ganga, she manages to knock him unconscious and runs away. Arjun, finds out Ganga is missing and looks for her. He finds her at a train station crying her eyes out and her clothes torn, she explains that Rajiv tried to rape her.

He promises to protect her and help her get back to India, back to her family.

Suraj Dev is misinformed with the circumstances in which Arjun brought Ganga to India. Believing Arjun ran away with Ganga, he tries to kill him. Suraj Dev mistrusts his daughter and she is locked up in a shed. She realises that she is in love with Arjun. By this time Kishorilal has come to India. Rajiv comes as well and is ready to kill Arjun and take Ganga back to America. Everyone is against them.

How Ganga and Arjun realize their love for each other, and manage to convince everyone that their love is pure, is the remainder of the story.

Pardes was a hit in India and overseas. During the 1990s, there was a trend of NRI men looking for young Indian girls to marry, and this film brought to light the culture shock and difficulties that may be involved in such cases.

Mahima is so beautiful in this movie and for a newcomer (according to that time) she has learned to pull herself together and did a great job in this movie.

For those who enjoy Hindi Film, will surely enjoy this movie - and my favourite character was Ganga of course!

Memorable Quotes!!!
Arjun - Shahrukh
Ganga - Mahima

Friend: [Arjun is frantically playing the piano] You love Ganga

Arjun : No, I don't love Ganga
Arjun : Yes you do
Arjun : I don't!
Friend: You do!
Arjun : I don't!
Friend: You don't?
Arjun : I do!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ganga: [after learning of Rajeev's ex-girlfriend] Everything that happened was wrong, everything! And you're the one responsible!
Arjun : Me?
Ganga: Yes, you! Aren't you the one who told me Rajeev is like this, Rajeev is like that.
[reveals intimate pictures of Rajeev and Kelly]
Ganga: THIS is what Rajeev is like!
Arjun : Now, Ganaga, you'll have to learn to adjust to these small matters...
Ganga: A smalll matter? This is a small matter? A small matter? THIS is what you call small! Look, I don't want wan't to live is some palace made of gold! I want the love of a human, a human!
Arjun: Everyone loves you, don't they?
Ganga: No one loves me! Amd I don't want this kind of love!
Arjun : [angry] Then what kind of love do you want, huh? What kind of love are you asking for?
Ganga: Ask yourself! The kind of love you give to people, that's the kind of love I want! You've all mistaken me for some innocent little painting that you've framed in gold, and now you want me to hang on these walls in silence and become a part of this false decor! This isn't the dream Ganga came to this foreign land with, is it Arjun?

Have Fun watching This Movie!!!
Good Day Everyone!! ;)
